The English Department Reception for our Graduate Students has been CHANGED AGAIN to:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 6, 4:00-6:00 PM at the Habit, QUAD F.
(on Cleveland St. between No. 7th & No. 6th, WEST WING).
The Open house previously scheduled for Friday September 26 has been canceled.
A reception will take the place of the open house and Carolyn will notify all of us when the new date/location has been finalized.
Here’s another update on upcoming events (yes, there are a lot of up-s):
For those of you used to the previous blog theme, you will be surprised to see a new face to the AEGS blog.
The reasons for this is that the previous theme left all of the helpful links uncategorized and chaotic. While I enjoy a certain amount of chaos, it helps to know what sorts of links we have and where they are going–so I changed stuff to make that happen.
Those that cannot live with the new theme and need to vent in some way, please email me, Josh, for futher details and perhaps a shoulder to cry on.
Any Graduate student in English who is looking to work an extra 10 hours per week and gain additional teaching experience by being involved with and/or serving on the MSU’s Teaching and Learning Committee should contact the Jan Zauha at the library (she is, coincidentally, our liason with the library). (Jan’s email is jzauha@montana.edu)
Not only can Jan fill you in on what the position pays and other extraeneous details, she is also on the committee. If you would like to browse the Teaching and Learning Comittee’s website, click on the link embedded in “website.” (The website for the Teaching and Learning Committee is: http://www.montana.edu/teachlearn/)
A belated welcome to all incoming Graduate Students and welcome back to all of those returning!!!** Below is a list of upcoming events.
Browse the website (some of the biographies are hilarious) and let me know if you don’t see something you expected to see, or if you see something you can’t understand the purpose of. I’m happy to take suggestions for improving the AEGS blog/site.
Keep in mind, also, that if you are planning on applying to enter PhD programs in Fall 2009, application deadlines are coming VERY fast. Talk to Dr. Bennett for advice on the particulars of application and how to sell yourself to that particular audience.
For those of us looking to publish or present a paper–I’d like to draw your attention to the UPenn link in the blogroll. It is a pretty exhaustive list of possibilities, although there are oportunities it doesn’t cover.
